Kadjoé The Beautiful Brand
Stephanie Aevouelie founded Kadjoé Design in the winter of 2016. This young designer was born in Côte d’Ivoire in West Africa. Her mother is of French-German-Ivorian descent while her father is from Côte d’Ivoire. Stephanie grew up in Côte d’Ivoire, then she later moved to France after graduating from high school and obtaining a master’s degree in Economics and Finance.
In 2009, she moved to the United States to improve her mastery of the English language, where she earned her MBA in Accounting. Since then, she has worked and lived in different parts of the United States and began working on her fashion label. As a young girl, she collected fashion magazines which inspired her to design different fashion clothes and dresses with long sleeves using African prints, cotton towels, towels and mosquito nets and assorted paraphernalia.
Stephanie is in love with her African culture and believes that African outfits do not get the right amount of awareness and popularity they deserve. This is why she has decided to use her brand to promote Africa’s rich cultural heritage while putting Africa on the map of excellence. She strongly believes that the world deserves to see African prints in casual clothes, rather than in sophisticated ones. Stephanie wants to give confidence to African women; she also wants to make them feel more attractive and stylish while rocking outfits made by her brand. Stephanie’s rich and diverse cultural background makes her fashionable taste captivating and unique.
Kadjoé Design is located in Philadelphia where Stephanie lives. She designs all her work in Philadelphia but ensures that they are produced locally in Côte d’Ivoire. That way, she is contributing to growing the Ivorian economy by creating employment for people in her fatherland. Her line of fashion products is made for women who want a unique and stylish look, hence the name “Kadjoé” which means beautiful in her mother tongue.
